Staycation at Madinat Jumeirah
Posted on August 31, 2016
Just the thought of having a weekend gateway with hubby was exciting & relaxing. We decided we were going to leave the little ones at home with my mum & grandma while we had our staycation at Madinat Jumeirah. Arriving at the hotel entrance, we were impressed with the structure and how massive it was. The road leading to the hotel had these beautiful golden horses displayed then a roundabout ahead with horses heads all around with the entrance right across, was just stunning
Once you got in the hotel it was like you were in a castle with beautiful chandeliers and stunning decor. It was just beautiful. We were staying at the Dar Al Masyaf villas which meant we either had to take a buggy or abra to them. Whichever you take, it had stunning views and gorgeous scenery
After we checked in, we made our way to our beautiful villa where we were greeted by the gentlemen at the little reception area. Each villa consists of 9 rooms and a private pool. Luckily we got the ground floor with a beautiful view and right infront of the abra station. Our room was big and spacious with pretty decor, the toilet was massive and luxurious with amouage products and of course our balcony had a relaxing view of the canal with abras passing by.
We didn’t waste any time; we changed and went to Sinbad’s Kids Club. We were so impressed with their kid’s facilities there. They had a waterpark + the indoor kids club which had an Arts & Craft room, Cinema room, A big soft play area with slides etc, toddlers area with a few ABC’S & numbers games, computer station for the older kids, and lots more! Adam had such a great time playing and really enjoyed himself. The best part was we could order Adam’s lunch directly to the kids club, he sat in the arts & crafts room playing while I fed him
After dropping Adam home we decided to go to the Spanish restaurant Al Hambra for dinner. The setting was so cosy and inviting. The manager was so sweet and professional. We had Beef Cheeks and Chicken & Cheese Croquets for starters, Mixed Paella for main & Chocolate Mousse with banana & passion fruit sorbet for dessert. I can’t tell you which I loved more! The beef was so tender and delicious, the cheese melted in your mouth, the paella tasted exotic and I loved it! The dessert oh my god that was absolutely YUMMY! It had these bits on the banana and mousse where it cracked in your mouth, you know what I mean? Remember those lollipops you had as kids that had those things on them kind of like fire crackers and popped in your mouth? Yes they had those Hubby & I had such a lovely time and highly recommend it
We were up bright & early to have breakfast at Arboretum located downstairs from the lobby. The buffet had a variety of delicious treats. The restaurant was massive with beautiful palm trees in the middle with branches on the ceiling. While we had our breakfast, hubby & I decided we’d go take Adam again for the day, we just couldn’t help it! The hotel & kids facilities were too good for us to enjoy without him. We would feel too guilty if we did! Before we went to get them we decided to go to the jetty where Pierchic restaurant was to check it out and of course get some pictures on the jetty.
So we spent the second day with Adam & my little cousin Rania running around and playing in Sinbad’s Kids Club. This time of course Adam had more fun with Rania around, it was a mission getting them out of there and back home! We just wish Hana could have joined us but once she is a bit older we will definitely go again. We had lunch at Khaymat Al Bahr which was so beautiful It was by the beach with stunning views of the Burj. The buffet was delicious, Rania loved it! Unfortunately Adam was so tired from playing he fell asleep at the restaurant!
After we took them, we spent the evening by ourselves watching a movie and in-room dining. It was so relaxing and amazing. We wished we had more nights there! It was just what we needed. Hubby and I didn’t have a gateway in a while and this was just beautiful and so relaxing.
Everyone at the hotel was so friendly, speaking to abra & buggy drivers we learnt a lot. The abra’s operate 24 hours making pick ups and drops to Mina Salaam, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and of course around Al Qasr & Madinat Jumeirah. The buggy drivers knew so much about the hotel and gave us a few recommendations on what to try out, one of them was lunch at Khaymat which we were pleased we went.
My rating for Madinat Jumeirah, it would be:
Kid’s Facilities: Fantastic
Staff: So sweet
Cleanliness: Top notch
Value for money: 100%
It was a home away from our home
