Fashion Forward 2015
Posted on November 2, 2015
Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) was created to provide a platform for Middle Eastern fashion designers to showcase their designs in an event with international & local clients/guests. It was a pool of talented designers putting forward their latest collections. From catwalks to presentations, FFWD was full of surprises & great speakers.
First Catwalk I attended was Starch Foundation. Starch Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization that helps launch Lebanese designers. This year Nour Najem The Label, Mira Hayek & La Terre Est put on a fantastic collection.
Second show I went for was a presentation by Amira Haroon, Dubai based designer (Originally from Pakistan). Amira Haroon designs are available in multiple stores in the Middle East and Harrods in London. My fav particularly was “A mom first & human later” top, how adorable!? ♥

Did someone say Huda Kattan? I was so glad I attended the “Building A Brand: The Huda Beauty Story” What a great speaker. Huda Kattan is a blogger turned Business Woman/Mompreneur. I absolutely loved every word she said. Not only was she inspiring, she was determined & ambitious. Huda stocks her lashes in several outlets in Dubai, including Sephora across all malls + Sephora US.
Taller Marmo! What amazing designs. I absolutely loved every dress, skirt & top from their collection. Taller Marmo is a Dubai based brand founded by designers Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea.

Next catwalk was Mashael Al Rajhi who is a Saudi designer who creates menswear & womenswear. The menswear is under a brand called Micci & Mishi. I loved the unique designs and simplicity of her collection.
Next show I attended was a presentation by Elio Abou Fayssal Couture, Lebanese designer. Absolutely stunning!! Soon as you entered the room, was this breath taking gown from S/S ’16 collection Sakura inspired by the tale of the Goddess Sakura. It oozes elegance. It was absolutely dream like. The Sakura collection is definitely fit for a goddess!
I made sure I arrived at 5:30pm at Madinat Jumeirah, well before Dima Ayad’s catwalk at 6pm. A Lebanese fashion designer based in Dubai. I absolutely loved her designs. My fav were her gold glittery tops & skirts.
Madiyah Al Sharqi definitely was one of my favs at FFWD! Her flowy, backless & off the shoulder tops and dresses were stunning. Sheikha Madiyah Al Sharqi is the daughter of the Ruler of Fujairah and is a namesake brand based out of Fujairah.
The last show I attended was House of Nomad. My other fav at FFWD! I absolutely loved their use of pinks, blues, whites and creams. Their Falling Stars SS’16 collection was outstanding! House of Nomad is a Dubai based brand co-founded by Ahmed El-Sayed & Saleh Al-Banna.
There were a few amazing shows that I missed like Zena Presley, Hussein Bazaza, Endemage, Bouguessa Official & of course Amato Official. They put on a fantastic show with beautiful & remarkable pieces. Pictures below are from their instagram accounts & ffwdxb account.
I can’t wait for the next FFWD and this time I’ll try to attend more shows! It was definitely a great experience and a great event. Hats off to FFWD for a great show ♥♥
