Is there something she can’t design?
Being a Mompreneur isn’t easy. It’s about finding the right balance between being a mom and an entrepreneur. How do you create the perfect balance? How do you make sure you’re not dedicating too much time on one and not the other?
Finding that equilibrium is always difficult, to be able to give a 50/50 split of your time and energy is what majority of moms in my opinion want to achieve, and I am one of those many moms. I, like many others struggle to create the perfect balance, some days its almost perfect, other days it is a work in progress, but I would like to think that by the end of the day when I’m ready to sleep, I look back on what happened that day and tell myself that I did the best I could, if not, then its something I strive to achieve the next day.
Tell us something people don’t know about Fatma?
I am a very transparent person, when people meet me they kind of know what my personality is, however what people don’t know is that I am very shy when it comes to public speaking, theres something about the amount of people, however its something that I have managed to overcome with the amount of conferences and talks I have been doing over the past year.
What are the 5 most important things to you?
2. My family
3. My business (FMM)
4. My relationships with people, I love maintaining good relationships with everyone i meet
5. Privacy, I respect my own and everyone’s privacy. It is very important
What was your main inspiration?
My main inspiration comes from trends, cult like obsessions from the masses.
With such a busy schedule, how do you manage to stay in shape?
I’ve fit getting in shape into my schedule, so that there cannot be any excuses.
Any quick tips for getting ready on the go?
I always have an FMM makeup pouch in my bag, just in case.
How do you maintain work life and time with your kid? Do you set hours per week dedicated to FMMbyFatmaAlMulla?
Thanks to God, I have an amazing family support system, they are always helpful and there when i need them. I want my child to be independent, and I am a great mom, but I also have to focus on my business, so as much as I can I do spend time with my son. To make life easier I have dedicated myself a few hours a day for FMM.
What are the main challenges you come across as a Mompreneur?
Finding the time to juggle between my family and my business is the main challenge.
How do you go about fixing that?
You set goals for yourself, daily, weekly, monthly. Try to balance everything as much as possible, And you convince yourself that you are doing the best you can. Because having a baby and a business at the same time is possible, difficult but possible, so as long as you don’t compromise on your child’s quality time with you, you will be able to achieve your goals, family wise and work wise.
What’s the best advice you’ve received?
Always know that God works in mysterious ways, and everything good happens in its own time.
What’s your advice to mothers who want to start their own businesses?
If you want to start your own business, you have to understand that nothing great comes easily, you have to work hard for it, and you have to realize that your business will be your second baby, its needs to be nurtured and looked after. As long as you have apositive mind set and the intention that you would like to balance everything out, obviously knowing that nothing must compromise your time with your little one/s, you will do great things inshalla
What do you do to unwind and relax?
Dedicate “me” time in my weekly plans, you have to take care of yourself and know that you are only the best version of you once you feel fulfilled and happy. You cannot be the CEO of your own company and an amazing mom to your baby if you feel bad about yourself, you can but you won’t do it to the best of your ability.
And finally take me through a day in Fatma’s life
I wake up, have breakfast, workout, come back just in time for my son to wake up, give him a bath, feed him, play with him, go to my meetings if I have any, come back, have lunch with my family, put son for his nap, work, have family time etc. thats a typical day in my life. Not so glamorous 🙂
